I track my workouts in various ways.  To keep me on track personally, I use a combination of my calendar, my Nike+, and Daily MileDaily Mile is an excellent tracker website, because it also lets you do social networking.  If you use it, add me as a friend!

I decided to also keep a log of my workouts here, starting April 1, 2010.

June 27: A very hot(!) 4 miler.  Total time: 39:32.  Avg. pace: 9:52 min/mi.

June 25-26: rest days

June 24: 30 minute strength workout

June 23: Easy 3 miler.  Total time: 29:52.  Avg. pace: 9:56 min/mi.

June 21-22: sick days (sadly, the headache got worse)

June 20: rest day (had a nagging sinus headache all day!)

June 19: Notes for Cliff 5K race!  My Garmin said the race was a bit short, so I’ll go by those statistics for now.  Total distance: 3.05 miles.  Total time: 27:40 (forgot to turn off my garmin right away, so the last .05 mile has a 15 minute pace!).  Avg. pace: 9:03 min/mi

Jule 18: rest day

June 17: rest day

June 16: 4.02 miles outside after work (80 degrees!!).  Total time: 00:39:56.  Avg. pace: 9:55 min/mi. This is my fastest run to date!

June 14: 2.58 mile treadmill run.  I was happy that I didn’t have any significant leg pain after this run.  Total time: 00:30:01.  Avg. pace: 11:35 min/mi.

June 7-13: Dealt with shin splints and some very tight muscles.  Double sad face :(

June 6: 6.52 mile run/walk outside.  My shins and my right knee were bugging me a little during this workout.  Total time: 01:27:43.  Avg. pace: 13:27 min/mi.

June 1-5: Can’t remember what I did, but I sure didn’t run.  This deserves a sad face :(

May 31: 2.17 miles on the treadmill.  Total Time: 00:25:00.  Avg. pace: 11:31 min/mi.

May 29: 3.94 mile run (in 88 degree heat!).  Total time: 00:40:28.  Avg. pace: 10:16 min/mi.

May 28: 30 minutes on the elliptical on variety/cross-training level 2.  Total of 3.05 miles.

May 27: unplanned rest day (my legs are so sore from my sports rehab appointment yesterday!)

May 26: rest day

May 25: 2-2.5 mile run (no Garmin or Nike+).  Abs, arms, and legs for strength training.

May 24: rest day

May 23: rest and recovery

May 22: Maple Grove Half-Marathon!  Official time of 2:21:05.  Avg. pace: 10:48 per mile.

May 21: rest day

May 20: rest day

May 19: Treadmill run of 2.18 miles (trying out some new shoes—still super hot in the gym!).  Total time: 00:25:02.  Avg. pace: 11:29 per mile

May 18: rest day

May 17: 3 mile run, 3.63 mile walk (went with the boyfriend and his blood sugar went low after 3 miles).  Total time: 01:37:22.  Avg. pace: 14:40 per mile.

May 16: 20 minutes on elliptical (variety at level 2).  Leg strength training.

May 15: rest day

May 14: 6.86 mile run.  Total time: 01:11:31.  Avg. pace: 10:15 per mile.

May 13: rest day

May 12: Treadmill run of 2.03 miles.  Total time: 00:21:50.  Avg. pace: 10:45 per mile.

May 11: rest day

May 10: 6.22 mile run.  Total time: 01:04:57.  Avg. pace: 10:26 per mile.

May 9: rest day (what can I say?  It’s finals time.)

May 8: rest day

May 6: 4.07 mile run.  Total time: 00:41:50.  Avg. pace: 10:17 per mile.

May 5: 2.58 mile run.  Total time: 00:28:04.  Avg. pace: 10:53 per mile.

May 4: rest day (however, I was cleared to run by the doctor!)

May 1, 2010: 45 minutes on the elliptical (variety on level 1).  My knees started to bother me on this workout.

April 30: rest day (still sore)

April 29: 25 minutes on the elliptical (variety on level 1), and 15 minutes on the treadmill (ran 1 mile in about 12 min—still a bit sore, and walked the remaining 3 minutes)

April 28: rest day (still sore)

April 27: rest day (still sore)

April 26: 25 minutes on the elliptical.  I went super SLOWLY, because my knees and ankles are very sore from my run yesterday.

April 25: 11.2 mile long run.  Total time: 2:07:23.  Avg. pace: 11:22 per mile.

April 24: rest day

April 23: 4.5 (runkeeper)-4.7 (nike+) mile run outside.  Total time: 53:54.  Avg. pace: 11:27 per mile.  Day 2/Week 1 of 100 push up challenge; here are my sets: 10, 12, 8, 8, 12.  Total push ups: 50.

April 22: Hill walk/run on the treadmill (incline 5.5).  First 25 minutes consisted of 3 min walk (4.0-4.2 mph) and 2 min run (5.5).  The rest of the workout was walking at a 4.2 mph pace at an incline of 5.5.  Total time: 42:38.  Avg. pace: 13:36 per mile.

April 21: Day 1/Week 1 of 100 Push Up challenge.  Started out in column 3, but dropped to column 2 half-way through.  Here are my sets (with 60 sec rest between each): 10, 12, 6, 4, 5.  Total push ups: 37.

April 20: 6 mile interval run.  I did song/speed intervals (run fast for one song, slower for the next).  I ran somewhere between 6.03 (Nike+) and 6.16 (RunKeeper) miles.  Avg. pace: 11:32 per mile.  Total time: 1:09:40.

April 19: Took initial test for the 100 Push Up Challenge.  I managed to do 12 push-ups with good form.  Otherwise, it was a rest day.

April 18:  Long run day!  Total distance: between 10.03 miles and 10.28 miles.  Total time: 2:02:56.  Avg. pace: about 12 minutes per mile (RunKeeper and Nike+ differ on pace and distance).

April 17: 25 minutes on elliptical at resistance 13.  10 minutes of ab and arm strength training.

April 16: Treadmill run/walk—2 min run (at speed 5.5), 3 min walk (at 4.0) with an incline of 5.5.  Total time: 20 minutes.  Avg. pace: 12:59 per mile.  20 minutes of strength training after.

April 15: Treadmill 5K run with a 4-5 minutes of cool down.  Total time: 40:05.  Avg. pace: 11:56 per minute.  (P.S. The apartment gym temp is set to 80 degrees!  Definitely died from heat here.)

April 14: rest day

April 13: rest day   (does walking around Capitol Hill (in Washington, D.C.) in heels count?)

April 12: 30 minutes at resistance 4 on the Precor Adaptive Motion Machine.  21 minutes of walking on treadmill with incline of 9 (avg. pace: 16:24 per mile).

April 11: rest day

April 10: XT Day!  Hill walking of 2.20 miles on incline of 9 (total time: 35:23, avg. pace: 16:04 per mile).  Precor Adaptive Motion Machine: 11 minutes.

April 9: In D.C.!  Ran 4 miles on the treadmill (incline of 1) in 42:19 (avg. pace: 10:34 per mile).  Then walked 1/2 of a mile to cool down.  Total workout time: 0:50:00.

April 8: rest day

April 7: 20 minutes on the elliptical (resistance 13).  Strength training: 2 sets of wall sits and the hundred (abs), 3 sets of bench press and weighted row (back).  Total workout time: 40 minutes.

April 6: attempted a 5 mile interval run on the treadmill.  I got my [4 x 2 minute tempo, 1-3 minute easy running] intervals in, and then I just about died.  Walked a lot in the last 1.5 miles.  Total time: 0:57:55.  Avg. pace: 11:34 per mile.

April 5: rest day

April 4: Happy Easter!  Long run of 7.2 miles.  Total time: 1:23:02.  Avg. pace: 11:30 per mile.

April 3 (evening): 25 minutes of upper body and core strength training.

April 3 (afternoon): Outdoor run/walk of 3.44 miles.  1.73 miles spent running (avg. pace under something between 10:30-11:00), and then walking back the rest of the way (my running partner, aka the boyfriend, was feeling ill.  Total time: 0:50:00.  Total avg. pace: 14:31 per mile.

April 2: rest day!

April 1, 2010: 6.2 mile outdoor run (with a break after 2.14 miles to get the boyfriend to come run with me the rest of the way!).  Total time: 1:10:30.  Avg. pace: 11:22 per mile.
