10 Mile Race Quandry

Whoa, it’s been a long time since I’ve logged onto my Tumblr!  I’ve blogged some at my other blog (http://gochelseago.com), but life has really gotten in the way lately. Quick update:

  • Finished law school(!!)
  • Took and passed the bar exam(!!!!)
  • Pulled my hamstring before my planned half-marathon last October :(
  • Signed up for a 10 mile race on Oct. 29th!

Bad news though—my IT band is giving me CRAZY trouble.  I was foam rolling it, but I finally bought a Tiger Tail to help massage out the knots.  It seems to be helping, but I am WAY undertrained for this race.  My last long run was about 3 weeks ago and I completed 9 miles.  Since then, I’ve ran 1-2 times a week, stopping whenever it hurts (which is usually around the 3 mile mark).  What do you all think?  Should I try to run it and see how it goes?  Or should I just decide to walk the whole thing for fun?
